b. Harcourt auctioned me by telegram to report by wire from Kung Tang on 15/4 that this vessel was due to arrive. I replied to the latter stating that I failed to do so for England, & I was on that date alone. Wh. 16
I have the honour to inform you that my wife's state does not admit of my adopting the overland route from Marseilles as I have intended, & I shall therefore come round by sea arriving in London on April 16th by the address "Hans Crescent Hotel," S.W.
After which it will be at Hans Mansions, S.W.
Should Mr. Harcourt desire my presence in London at an earlier date, I can myself take the train at Marseilles arriving in London leaving my wife behind. Provided that she is at that time in a condition in which I can safely leave her without my personal care. If that is Mr. Harcourt's wish, I shall be obliged if he will telegraph to me at Marseilles.
